Alzheimer's & Dementia In-Home Care

At Home Care Assistance of West Hartford, we extensively train all of our caregivers in a revolutionary program called the Cognitive Therapeutics Method™ (CTM). This program is focused on providing seniors with cognitive stimulation that can delay the progression of serious conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Best of all, CTM can be added to any care plan at no additional cost to our clients.

A Trusted Provider of In-home Care Throughout West Hartford and Newington, CT

My name is Kathy Corcoran, the new owner of HCA Hartford. I’ve worked in insurance and IT project management for many years but have always been passionate about helping people, especially in Connecticut, where I’ve lived most of my life. I have volunteered in my community and at my church, but more importantly I spent 10 years overseeing my mother’s care while she was living with dementia. I sometimes found it frustrating navigating the various challenges of dementia and making decisions on my mother’s behalf due to her condition. Even though I felt honored to be her advocate, I also realized I wouldn’t be able to provide the high-quality care she needed and deserved if I didn’t take time away to rejuvenate. My mother passed away a few years ago, and now I get to help others by providing the best possible care for their loved ones.

Highly Trained and Compassionate Greater Hartford Caregivers

Our compassionate caregivers undergo extensive training through Home Care Assistance University and continue to receive ongoing training to ensure they stay up to date on the latest senior care practices. Every caregiver is an employee of Home Care Assistance--not an independent contractor--and is licensed, bonded, and insured. Additionally, our caregivers must pass rigorous background and reference checks before being offered employment.

Home Care Assistance Can & Will Make a Difference. We Know Because We Have Been There Too

I, too, have been in the same situation when many years ago my Grandmother, a smart, independent woman who had traveled the world, spoke 5 different languages, and lived an altogether fruitful life, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We didn’t know what to do or where to turn. We had a responsibility to our proud family member to allow her to continue to live with dignity and comfort. We took this responsibility seriously and we know that you do as well. Assistance is just a phone call away as we are here to help and guide you through this difficult life challenge.
